The 12 Color Corps members (10 from AWD; 2 from Maryland District) who participated in the Mass and Veneration for the Incorruptible Heart of St. Jean Marie Vianney were privileged to be a part of two great and moving events! For the

Mass, we had 8 Color Corps Members as the Honor Guard leading the Liturgical procession, and 4 Color Corps Members as Honor Guard for the relic carried by a seminarian just in front of the Papal Nuncio in the Liturgical Procession!

We were all in awe of this magnificent relic! I thank the Color Corps members present with me today!

I encourage all Color Corps, Non Color Corps, Knights of Columbus and their families to get to the veneration sessions if possible. There are 2 more days, 9 AM to 5 PM to experience this impactful event! This is an opportunity of a lifetime, and I hope that you can make it either to help out as Honor Guard during the veneration, or just to go to the veneration and see this magnificent relic!

It has been announced by the Master of the Archdiocese of Washington 4th Degree District, SK Col. Micheal Thumm (USMC-Ret), that the Honoree for the 51st District Exemplification of the Patriotic Degree of the Knights of Columbus has been named.

Msgr BazanIt has been announced by the Master of the Archdiocese of Washington 4th Degree District, SK Col. Micheal Thumm (USMC-Ret), that the Honoree for the 50th District Exemplification of the Patriotic Degree of the Knights of Columbus has been named.

Monsignor Joaquin Bazan, longtime Knights of Columbus Chaplain and Fourth Degree Friar will be the honoree at the Patriotic Degree exemplification that will be held on Saturday, October 20th, 2018. Registration for the degree may be completed online.  A biography of Msgr. Bazan may be found below.

Color Corps are invited and needed to turn out for the opening Mass as well as the Procession, presentation and posting of the Colors on Tuesday evening for the opening of the Convention in either the new uniform OR the Legacy regalia (minus sword). Additionally, BOTH UNIFORMS are authorized and encouraged for standing watch at the Adoration Chapel during the Convention from Sunday through Thursday!

Either uniform will include: service baldric, white gloves and ONLY the PG-113 official Fourth Degree lapel pin. Miniature jewels and current jewel of office are also authorized and NO OTHERS.

One other question has arisen, where is the practice? Gentlemen, all things "Convention Related" will be held at the Baltimore Convention Center. Reminder: There is parking available at the stadium parking "Lot-C" which appears to be about 4-5 blocks from the convention Center. Cost of parking in this lot for volunteers is $10/day. IF you arrive early and there is no attendant on duty, you must have a credit card to buy your pass for the day.

So please turn out for these events if you can.  Your help is needed!

For a full redux of the needs and regulations, please view our Supreme Convention Marching Orders article.
