Master of the Fourth Degree SK Michael Thumm has asked for intercessory prayers with Fr. Vincent R. Capodanno for former US Marine who is suffering from Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. The text of the prayer request is below:
A priest I went to confession to suggested I contact the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus as they would pray for my husband for the healing of his progressive incurable brain disease through the intercession of Father Vincent Capodanno. (Progressive Supranuclear Palsy) My husband was a Marine, a grunt in the Vietnam war and was stationed at DaNang a year after the death of Father Vincent Capodanno. My husband was there when our government sprayed Viet Nam with herbicides. He was out in the Bush and they never changed their clothes and he came down with Jungle Rot and was hospitalized for three months. He also came down with a stomach ailment. Three years ago he came down with progressive supranuclear palsy. This is a rare, incurable and very progressive brain disease . There is nothing neurologists can do for him. There is no cure.
I joined the Fr. Vincent Capodanno Guild and we have been praying for my husband's healing through his intercession. I asked a family member if they would join us in praying for a healing and they told me God doesn't heal any more. He only did that in the bible. My heart just ached hearing this. Father told me look at Lourdes. There are still miracles. My husband and I would love to see Fr. Vincent Capodanno become the first Marine saint to help those marines who were, are and will be on the battlefield. I beg of you to keep my dear husband Larry in your prayers as well as the prayers of those who are members in the Knights of Columbus. Thank you and may God bless you, My husband says: "Semper Fi"
Let us pray, as Knights and as a united District for Larry and for the miraculous cure of his Palsy.
Prayer to Obtain a Favor Through the Intercession of the Servant of God Father Vincent R. Capodanno, M.M. by Archbishop Timothy P. Broglio
Almighty and merciful God, look with Love on those who plead for Your help. Through the intercession of your servant, Father Vincent Capodanno, missionary and Catholic Navy Chaplain, grant the favor I earnestly seek (mention the request). May Vincent, who died bringing consolation to the Marines he was privileged to serve on the field of battle, intercede in my need as I pray in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
